私たちが制作するみずひきには、ひとつひとつ物語があります。

その年のことであったり、季節や雰囲気などを様々な角度からみた時、もしかしたらこんな見え方もするかもしれない。などをイメージし作り上げていきます。

私やもうひとりの私の世界をみずひきの美しさと繊細さが表現してくれます。

私たちが思うみずひきは、同じものはひとつとない。

よくみると、色が異なり、よくみると形も異なる。みずひきは作る人によってその人の形になります。同じ梅結びでも作り手が変わると、変化します。そんな変化や異なりが美しいみずひきで表現される瞬間を私たちは楽しんでいます。

Each piece of mizuhiki we create carries its own story.

It may be inspired by a particular year, a season, or a certain atmosphere—
we imagine different perspectives, as if asking, “What if it could be seen this way?” and bring each piece to life through that vision.

The world within me—and another version of myself—is expressed through the beauty and delicacy of mizuhiki.

To us, no two pieces of mizuhiki are ever the same.

If you look closely, the colors differ; look again, and even the shapes are unique.
Mizuhiki naturally reflects the person who creates it. Even the same ume-musubi knot changes depending on the maker.

We find joy in these subtle differences and transformations—
in the very moments when they are expressed through the beauty of mizuhiki.

あの人とゆっくりと過ごす時間。

約15年前、海外のオペラとの出会いで日本には素晴らしい舞台芸術があるということを知りました。日本の伝統文化に興味をもつことになります。

その中で、代々伝統文化に携わる方々との出会いが大きな転機となりました。
所作や言葉、空気の在り方。
目に見えるものだけではない、日本の美しさや精神性に触れ、その奥深さに惹かれていきました。

その想いはやがて、水引というかたちへとつながります。

人と人を結び、想いをかたちにする水引。
その繊細で力強い表現に魅了され、
日常の中で自然に取り入れられるデザインとして届けたいと考えるようになりました。

mizuhiki designは、
日本の伝統である水引を通して、
人と人、そして伝統文化をつなぐことを目指しています。

About 15 years ago, an encounter with overseas opera led me to discover that Japan has its own remarkable performing arts. This experience sparked my interest in traditional Japanese culture.

Along the way, meeting people who have been devoted to traditional arts for generations became a major turning point.
Their gestures, their words, and even the atmosphere they create—
I was drawn to a beauty and spirituality that cannot be seen, and to the profound depth of Japanese culture.

These feelings eventually led me to mizuhiki.

Mizuhiki connects people and gives form to feelings.
I was captivated by its delicate yet powerful expression,
and came to wish to share it as a design that can be naturally incorporated into everyday life.
